Poster Design Competition

Ricefield has teamed up with Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to organise the ‘One World One Dream’ Poster Design Competition to celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The aim of the competition is to promote the awareness of the Beijing Olympics, understanding of Chinese culture and life, and to broaden the cultural experience of young people in Scotland.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual with a strong passion toward oriental arts and culture to manage and drive Ricefield's projects. This includes its exhibitions, outreach and exchange programs. The successful candidate will establish links between local communities, schools, arts organisations and others in order to encourage the development of oriental arts and culture in Scotland.



Xiang Silou: A Chinese block buster by Jim Gilchrist

Xiang Silou, professor at the Fine Arts institute of Sichuan Normal University will take up a month-long residency at Glasgow's Burrel Collection as part of the UK-wide China Now festival. His visit is organised in conjunction with the Ricefield Arts and Cultural Centre where Xiang exhibited two years ago.
